From July 2002 Cies Islands are part of the National Sea and land Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia.
Cies islands are located in Vigo estuary, forming a natural barrier between the bay and the Atlantic Ocean. One of its beaches “Rodas Beach” was named the best beach in the world by the newspaper “The Guardian” in 2007, extolling its crystalline turquoise waters, its fine sand and pine trees that reach the sand.
This protected natural area is worth visiting for their landscapes, different viewpoints, routes for walking, bird observatories, its vegetation, its fauna, its history…. They are a unique natural paradise.
Access to Cies Islands is provided by a regular catamaran lines that bind Vigo, Baiona and Cangas with the archipelago from Easter to late September.
